HISTORY OF API-SILVESTRE

 

In the year of 1986, Mr. Ronaldo Martins Machado started his activity as an apiarist in the Itajai river valley, in the city of Blumenau, state of Santa Catarina.

 

Going into business, he founded API-SILVESTRE APICULTURA e COMERCIO LTDA in March of 1990, thus linking the production to the commercial area at his new Urubici city address in the highlands of Santa Catarina.

 

There, better blossomings and a closer relation with beekeepers were expected, what happened soon afterwards when they started trading their crops with the new company. The region of Urubici stands out for being one of the best apiculture blossomings in Brazil and for the high producivity, excellence and quality of the honey produced,they were awarded the gold medal on the congress of 1979 in Athens.

 

After more than 13 years, with highly trained and qualified employees, as well as modern equipment that can process up to 20.000 kilos of homogenized honey per day, we can meet all the demands of the domestic and international markets.

 

We also own a modern laboratory that carries out all the physical and chemical analyses together with the microbiological ones, ensuring the quality of our products.

Our affiliate company, API-SILVETRE NORDESTE, which opening took place in March 2003, is located in the state of Pernambuco. Covering 1000 square meters of constructed area and with the same production capacity of its headquarters in Urubici, Santa Catarina state, this company brought about a considerable increase of our production. Araripina is located in the biggest honey production region of the Brazilian northeast, having Piauí and Ceará states as neighbors and producing different and very tasty honey that is known worldwide.

 

The thirth unit of the group is located in the city of Pariqüera-Acu , Sao Paulo State. The company PRONATU Laboratório de Produtos Naturais Ltda. is a commercial partner of GRUPO API-SILVESTRE and is in charge of the purchase and processing of honey from that state, as well as from Minas Gerais and Paraná. It is specialized in propolis and is a pioneer of the sector, producing apiculture compounds.
